From December 5 to December 14, 2024, faculty members of the Department of History, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor B.Zh. Atantaeva, and Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor R.D. Akhmetova, have been working with the archival collections of the Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History (RGASPI) in Moscow as part of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan project AP23485479, titled "Armed demonstrations in the Semipalatinsk district in documents: the history and fate of participants (1929-1931)" During their work, 63 cases from the collections of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks), the Central Asian Bureau of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks), and closed sessions of the Kazakh Regional Committee of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) for the years 1929–1931 were studied. More than half of the reviewed cases have been declassified (previously marked as "secret"), and materials from 14 of these cases will be introduced into academic circulation for the first time. As a result of the work conducted in the archive, new data about the events of 1929–1931 have been uncovered.
