An international scientific and practical conference was held
On October 11, 2024 Shakarim University of Semey together with Ch.Ch. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology holds an International scientific and practical conference on the topic "Relations between the Kazakh and Dzungarian Khanate in the second half of the XVII - middle of the XVIII centuries". The conference is held within the framework of the scientific project AP23488522: "New pages from the history of Kazakh-Dzungarian relations: second half of the XVII – 50s of the XVIII century."
The purpose of the conference - analysis of the history of relations between the Kazakh and Dzungar peoples in the period from the second half of the XVII century to the middle of the XVIII century, diplomatic and political interactions between the Kazakh and Dzungar Khanate.

During the conference, topical issues of Kazakh-Dzungarian relations were discussed: documents and studies concerning Kazakh-Dzungarian relations in the second half of the XVII – 50s of the XVIII centuries; diplomatic and political interactions between the Kazakh and Dzungarian khanate; the institute of batyrship in the Kazakh-Dzungarian confrontation; dynastic marriages between Kazakh khans, sultans and Dzungarian rulers; the process of incorporation of Dzungars into Kazakh society; economic relations between Kazakhs and Dzungars; Dzungarian toponymy on the territory of Kazakhstan.
